What Star Rating Can You Get for £100 Around the World?

If you’re looking for value for money, you may be best off looking further afield (at least when it comes to hotels!).

That’s because we’ve looked at 50 top destinations around the world and found that you could bag a night’s five-star accommodation at eight of them, but none of them are in Europe.

Mumbai, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Perth, Wellington, Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Cape Town all had five-star accommodation available for less than £100 a night, with a much wider range (21) offering four-star rooms for the same budget.

At the other end of the scale, in US cities such as Chicago, Las Vegas and New York, you’d struggle to even get a one-star room in the city centre for £100. Check out the full list below!

Methodology

We looked at the cost of a double bedroom located within a mile of the city centre of each of the 50 cities and looked for the best-rated room available for £100 based on a Saturday night in June.

We looked at the world’s top 50 cities according to the Telegraph’s 2017 World Travel Awards.
