Flights to Goa

It’s never been easier to book Goa flights with Globehunters. Whether you’re looking to soak up some exotic culture or simply sit back and relax on one of Goa’s many golden beaches, there are a multitude of different reasons to visit the vibrant Indian resort. We’ve partnered with some of the world’s major airlines to provide cheap flights to Goa at any time of year and throughout 2016.

Why Fly to Goa

Goa’s carefree vibe is still true to its hippy roots which date back to the 1960s. The relaxed pace of life and wide open spaces are a world away from the frenetic pace of India’s cities and towns. Goa remains a popular retreat for UK residents now and into 2016, offering an enchanting mix of unspoilt beaches, cultural sights and revitalising warm temperatures all year round.

One of Goa’s biggest draws is undoubtedly its selection of fantastic beaches. The popular Calangute is one of the most developed resorts and is home to most of the areas’ tour operators. Anjuna Beach was once the favourite haunt of Goa’s sizeable hippy community – it’s still a great place to party, with shacks playing dance music dotted along the sand and the legendary Paradise Disco found at the northern end of the beach.

If you prefer something quieter and just want to unwind in Goa you won’t be short of more tranquil options. Benaulim Beach and Agonda Beach are more relaxed and perfect for kicking back and unwinding. Likewise, Cola Beach in South Goa still offers undeveloped stretches of golden sand with few tourists. For those with more extravagant tastes, Sinquerim is the playground of India’s rich and famous and boasts a variety of luxurious places to stay. Browse through Globehunters flight and accommodation packages online, offering a variety of great located apartments and hotels to choose from.

However, Goa is far from a one-dimensional beach resort offering a host of other fascinating sights to see. The world heritage architecture of Old Goa is perfect for blending some culture into your holiday. Old Goa was the original colonial capital of the area and is now a spellbinding relic to a bygone era. Be sure to admire the ornate Baroque architecture of the Basilica of Bom Jesus and visit the impressive Museum of Christian Art. The Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary is also a fantastic day trip and gives animal lovers the opportunity to see some of Goa’s indigenous creatures such as panthers, leopard cats, porcupines and giant lizards.

Goa is in a tropical zone and has a hot and humid climate throughout most of the year. The most popular time to visit Goa is in the drier, cooler months of November to March, with Christmas and New Year the very height of high season. Temperatures peak in May with day temperatures of over 35°C (95 °F) and high humidity. The cooler monsoon season lasts from June until September, when Goa gets most of its rainfall. Despite the rain, this time of year sees a number of fascinating festivals; the most famous is the Hindu festival Chovoth, held in August or September.
